LTV show Aizliegtais paņēmiens

On October 7, 2024, project member Uldis Vēgners participated in an episode of the LTV show "Aizliegtais paņēmiens" titled "The Last Journey. Part 2", which focused on the topics of euthanasia, assisted suicide, and palliative care.

Radio Naba show Fono-grāfs

On September 27, 2024, an episode of the show Fono-grāfs titled The Arrow of Time aired on Radio Naba. In the episode, project member Uldis Vēgners shared his expertise on questions related to the philosophy of the experience of time.

Article in magazine Tvērums

On September 26, 2024, the launch event for the issue of the magazine "Tvērums", dedicated to the topic of everyday life, took place. The issue also features an article by project member Uldis Vēgners titled "Beyond the Everydayness."

Conference: The Many Worlds of Phenomenology: Umwelt – Mitwelt – Lebenswelt

From September 4th to 6th, 2024, the 9th annual conference of the Central and Eastern European Society for Phenomenology (CEESP) took place in Trnava, Slovakia, titled "The Many Worlds of Phenomenology: Umwelt – Mitwelt – Lebenswelt." During the conference, project participants Uldis Vēgners and Māra Grīnfelde presented a paper "The Life-World and Vaccine Hesitancy: Mutual Enlightenment between Phenomenology and Empirical Research."

Scientific article: experience of anorexia nervosa

In Volume 78, Issue 1 (2024) of the scientific journal Proceedings of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (Latvijas Zinātņu Akadēmijas Vēstis), Part A, an article by our project member Daniela Zālīte titled "The Relationship between Body Self-Objectification and Subjectivity in Anorexia: A Comparison of the Models by Fuchs and Osler" has been published.

Democracy Festival 2024

From August 2 to 3, 2024, the annual Democracy Festival took place in Kuldīga. As part of the event, the project group organized two activities highlighting embodied aspects of democratic processes.

Conference: European Philosophical Society for the Study of Emotions

From 19th to 21st of June, 2024, Māra Grīnfelde and Uldis Vēgners presented a paper entitled "Existential feelings, bodily certainty and vaccine hesitancy: Phenomenologically grounded approach" at the 11th conference of the European Philosophical Society for the Study of Emotions, hosted by the University of Lisbon and the NOVA University Lisbon in Lisbon, Portugal.

Conference: On the Traces of Togetherness. Phenomenology of Sociality in Central and Eastern Europe

On 30th and 31st of May, 2024, Uldis Vēgners presented a paper entitled "From Objectification to Re-Subjectification. The Embodied Perspective on Autonomy in Vaccine Hesitancy" at the international conference “On the Traces of Togetherness. Phenomenology of Sociality in Central and Eastern Europe”, organised by the Institute Nova Revija for the Humanities in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Guest lecture: University of Southern Denmark

On 30 May, 2024 Māra Grīnfelde gave an online guest lecture “The role of embodiment in online clinical encounter: Phenomenologically grounded approach” for a PhD course “Integrating phenomenology and qualitative research methodologies” at the Graduate School of Health Sciences at University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark.

On 30 April, 2024, Māra Grīnfelde an invited talk “Methodological reflections on qualitative phenomenology in the context of health care and public health” in the framework of speaker series on phenomenology and qualitative research organized by the associate professor Anthony Vincent Fernandez at the research unit Movement, Culture and Society (MoCS), based in the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics at University of Southern Denmark.

BIP lecture: Practical Knowledge in Philosophy: Affectivity, Skills and Knowing-How

On 16 April, 2024, Uldis Vēgners gave a lecture on "The Life-World, Embodiment, and Vaccine" within the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Practical Knowledge in Philosophy: affectivity, skills and knowing-how", organized by the partners: Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai Cluj, University of Ferrara, University of Messina, Palacký University Olomouc, Trnava University in Trnava, University of Szeged and University of Veliko Trnovo.
